Tammy Harris is a Coding/Auditing expert at SunHawk Consulting, LLC. Ms. Harris is a CPC and CRC through the American Academy of Professional Coders. She served as an associate director with Optum Health where she managed quality programs associated with CPT, modifiers, and ICD-10-CM coding. Previously at Optum, she served as a manager and coding analyst for Optum Health/UHG for which her focus was ICD Coding and Clinical Documentation Improvement initiatives as well as staff management and oversight. She completed numerous tasks including E/M coding, performing HCC risk adjustment coding and validation as well as completing monthly quality review audits.
Ms. Harris has served as an account reimbursement specialist for Vanderbilt Medical Group. She was responsible for CPT and ICD-9 medical documentation review to verify coding in relation to denied claim and reimbursement issues. She has also done coding and reimbursement work on Workman’s Compensation cases. Additionally, she was formerly a Coding Analyst for AIM Healthcare now known as Optum/UHG. In the role, she reviewed medical records via HIPAA Compliant servers and abstract HCC codes. Ms. Harris was a billing coordinator for Vanderbilt Medical Group for six years where she audited charts for compliance issue, completed CPT and ICD-9 coding for Otolaryngology Practice of three physicians and verified insurance benefits.
