Tammi Johnson, CFE, CCEP, is a Director with SunHawk Consulting, LLC. She is a strategic and principled investigator with deep expertise in business conduct, ethics investigations, and financial fraud. She is known for her exceptional consultative style and ability to build trusted relationships with business leaders, resulting in investigations and remediation efforts that are both practical and high impact. Over more than two decades as a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional, Tammi has led cross-functional initiatives and proactive incident management efforts across more than 30 countries. Her experience spans procurement, sales deals, conflicts of interest, and travel and expense issues, as well as leading large, complex vendor transitions for payment platforms that reduce operational risk and cost including one initiative that lowered risk and expenses by $2 million. She has also designed and implemented analytics and AI-driven programs to support KPIs, risk scoring, regulatory compliance, and fraud detection, including an anomaly detection project that monitored $9 billion in partner incentive payouts.
Tammi’s investigations have resulted in meaningful policy changes, remediation work, and significant annual recoveries for global organizations. She was the recipient of a CFO Individual Award for her work on a case that achieved $5 million in financial recovery. A high-EQ leader and frequently requested speaker on ethics, operations, and fraud topics, she brings a blend of technical acumen, investigative rigor, and practical business insight to every engagement.
As a Lead for Integrity Issues Management within Governance Risk and Compliance at Meta Platforms, Tammi was responsible for ensuring resolution of product gaps which resulted in safety and other customer harm across Meta’s products including Facebook, What’s App, Instagram, and Devices. Tammi led a GRC team which handled intake/triage and management for both known and emerging product risks, providing key visibility to company leadership. She ensured that teams were completing timely remediation of issues for global transparency and for regulatory reviews. Integrity risks include selling of drugs, firearms, human exploitation, child safety, scams/frauds, gambling, terrorist financing and others. Tammi collaborated across teams to prioritize issues with key stakeholders, including Product leadership, Legal, and EU Regulatory Offices improving cross-functional collaboration to manage the highest risks quickly to reduce harm and risk.
As the former Director of Business Conduct Investigations at Microsoft, Tammi was responsible for conducting ethical misconduct investigations involving employees, vendors, suppliers, and customers more than 160,000 employees across 80 countries. Tammi led the Americas investigation team with investigators covering cases in North America and Latin America. In addition, Tammi performed investigations as an individual investigator in over 30 countries where she was known for resolving very complex matters involving many subjects and a wide range of concerns. Tammi worked as a trusted advisor collaborating with outside counsel, employment attorneys and compliance attorneys to help guide case strategy for complex financial fraud investigations. Through collaboration with Finance, HR, Legal and operational subject matter experts she was able to effectively resolve case allegations which included vendor pay & contracting issues, employee self-dealing, HR concerns such as inappropriate relationships, employee hiring, retaliatory termination misconduct, sales schemes, relocation and employee benefit misuse, misuse of marketing or sales incentives, misuse of internal funds, conflicts of interest, travel and expense fraud, embezzlement, and corruption/bribery.
