SunHawk Expert Spotlight – Sarah Couture

We’re excited to highlight Sarah Couture, RN, CHC, CHRC, CHPC, Managing Director at SunHawk Consulting!

Before transitioning into compliance, Sarah worked in frontline nursing and clinical management across a range of healthcare settings. She has since partnered with dozens of provider organizations to assess, build, and enhance best-in-class compliance programs. Her deep expertise spans compliance program effectiveness reviews, risk assessments, enterprise risk management, program development for organizations of all sizes, audits, investigations, and service as a Board Expert or Independent Review Organization for entities under government integrity agreements. She also has extensive experience in privacy and research compliance, including clinical research billing.

Sarah is a nationally recognized compliance thought leader, frequently presenting and publishing on emerging regulatory issues. She teaches for the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) as faculty for the Compliance Essentials Workshops and Research Compliance Academies. She also mentors compliance students through internships and remains active in the local compliance community through Business Ethics Indiana and annual volunteer service with the IAPP Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl. Additionally, she serves in her local church and volunteers each summer as a camp nurse.

With both in-house and consulting experience, Sarah offers a balanced, pragmatic perspective on compliance strategy, program development, and operational effectiveness. She works closely with each client to design and deliver tailored, practical, and sustainable compliance solutions.
